Detection Test Coverage

In the Detection Coverage Report, the Detection Test Coverage section provides details for each test in the detection sequence for the current diagnostic study. For each test, a table (depicted below) is provided, describing the individual elements in that test's detection coverageinterference, the stimuli required for that test, and any functions/failure modes that are explicitly not detected by that test.

The Coverage section of the Detection Test Coverage table of the Detection Coverage Report (pictured below) lists, for a given detection test, the items, output functions and failure modes that make up the detection coverage of that test (given its current location in the detection sequence). The function/failure mode entries are grouped by item and the items are alphabetically sorted by detected failure probability. In order to make this table more readable, the different elements are color-coded: items are black, output functions are magenta, and failure modes are blue. For each function/failure mode, the corresponding relative failure probability is listed and, for each item, the defined Replacement Cost and Time. At the bottom of the section are totals for these three figures.

The total at the bottom of the Failure Probability column in this section is equivalent to the entry that corresponds to that test in the Minimum Probability Detected % column of the Detection Order Report.

Note: When calculating the coverage failure probabilities for detection tests/sequences that utilize hybrid diagnostics, the corresponding partial failure probabilities are summed for each detected element (function or failure mode), the failure probabilities for each object having been adjusted based on the selected failure probability calculation method.Note: When the report is generated using hot-links, then linked entries in the report will be underlined (in the above sample, hotlinks are not shown; underlined entries are linked to additional help topics). You can obtain detailed descriptions of the information provided in this section of the report either by clicking on these links, or by selecting one of the following links:
