Failure Probability Calculation Method

 

Feature Description

 
This field identifies the method for calculating functional and failure mode probabilities for the selected object.  A detailed discussion of these calculations is available under the topic Failure Probability Calculation. For individual objects, the Failure Probability Calculation Method can be set using the object Details panel or within Grid View.

How To Set The Failure Probability Calculation Method (using Panels)

Select the object  whose calculation method is to be set.

Select the Details tab from the context panels.

Use the Prob. Calc. Method drop-box on the Details panel to change the method.
 

How To Set The Failure Probability Calculation Method (using Grid View)

Select the object(s) for which the abbreviation is to be edited.
 
Alternative: Object abbreviations can be edited for all objects by invoking Grid View with nothing selected.

Click on the Grid View icon on the View toolbar.

If necessary, select "Objects" from the Contents Type drop-box on the Grid Control panel.

Enable "Object Details" on the Grid Control panel.

Select the cell in the "Failure Prob. Method" column for the row that corresponds to the desired object.

Click on the dropbox arrow that appears within the cell to display the list of possible settings. Select the desired failure probability calculation method from this list.
 
This setting can be modified for batches of objects using the Object Batch Changes panel (or by copying and pasting values using Grid View)
