Default Precedence will pick, for each object, the failure probability calculation method that is most likely to correspond to the Analyst’s intentions. If an object has at least one defined failure mode, then Failure Mode Precedence will be used for that object. Otherwise, Functional Precedence will be utilized.
Special Case - If the object is part of a multi-object item, then Failure Mode Precedence will only be utilized if at least one failure mode has been defined for each object associated with that item.
