What are Nets?

 
Once objects have been placed within a design and ports have been added to those objects, nets are used to connect those objects together. Although nets can be thought of as the pathways across which information travels between objects, nets do not themselves represent components in the design. When a path that connects objects is itself a replaceable item within the design, then an object must be defined to represent the physical component for that path.
 
Because eXpress can be used to model any design technology, the types of connections that can be modeled using nets cannot be fully enumerated. However, the following table lists some of the more common types of signal paths that might be represented using nets:
