Creating Nets Using Auto connect

Feature Description

Creating a Net using Auto Connect

1)  Select Ports to be connected by lassoing or holding the CTRL key down and selecting each one.

2) With the ports Selected use the right hand mouse button with the mouse pointer out in the clear to open the window at the right and select any of the first three options to create the net.

Auto Connect Options:
  • Ports with the Same Name
  • Ports on Adjacent Objects
  • Selected Ports to a Single Net

Net will be named for the Last Output port connected. The analyst should check the net name when using this option to insure it is what is wanted

The Analyst can also use Auto connect to add IO Flags to unconnected Ports

For this Illustration
Ports with the same name would result in no Nets being made as no two ports have the same name.
Ports on Adjacent Objects would result in a single net between A and B as both of C and D are both input ports so no connection would be made. See Net Auto Connect Additional Options
Selected Ports to a Single Net would result in all 4 ports connected together with the name A out

Note: Nets are normally routed as "Full path"  Holding the "shift" key down when creating a net will cause the net to be created as a "STUB"
