Cost/Time Entries

5. Cost/Time Entries
The Cost/Time to Diagnose a Primary Failure section of the Fault Isolation Report contains several statistics. For each of the six categories listed in this section (Cost to Isolate, Time to Repair, etc.), a metric gives the Test limit for that category per Operating Hour. This Test limit is calculated by dividing the Expected Test limit for that category (e.g. MTTR) by the simulated MTBF (this Test limit is listed in the summary section of the Detection Order Report). At the bottom the section, two more new metrics are listed—Inherent Availability (which is calculated by dividing the simulated MTBF by the sum of the simulated MTBF and the MTTR) and Maintenance Ratio (which is calculated by dividing the MTTR by the simulated MTBF).

Possible Error Message when trying to generate Report:

This message will appear when Making a Fault Isolation Report while trying to include "Cost and time to Resolve a Primary Failure" with Maintnence Plan Selected . Results because of inadequate data available for eXpress to calculate that data for the report. (Maintenance Plan Missing)

Solution:  Add Maintenance data to the model

Report Overview
The Fault Isolation Report contains metrics that describe the fault isolation capability of a diagnostic design and its performance under diagnosis. Among the information in this report are common Testability and Maintainability metrics that are useful when assessing the capability of a diagnostic design.
Report Content
The information in the Fault Isolation Report is divided into four categories (for each of these categories, there is an individually-selectable section in the report):
Report Options
When the Fault Isolation Report is invoked, the Fault Isolation Report options dialog appears, allowing the Analyst to select which sections of the report are to be generated. If Fault Group Size Percentages are to be included in the report, then the Analyst may also specify the Fault Group Counting Method and the Lambda Search Criteria to be used in calculating the metrics that appear in this section. This dialog also allows the Analyst to select the format of the generated report.
