Time to Repair

Description

The Time to Repair calculation represents the time associated with diagnosing and replacing all items (using Block Replacement) in a given isolated fault group. (Note: eXpress converts all test times and object replacement times to minutes.)

Calculation

For a given isolated fault group, the Time to Repair is calculated by summing the replacement times associated with each item in the isolated group and the test times associated with each test performed in the process of isolating that group:
where
FGx
=
the xth isolated fault group
Tx
=
the number of tests needed to detect and isolate a failure to  FGx
TestTimei
=
the time attribute Test limit for the ith test used to isolate FGx
Nx
=
the number of replaceable items within FGx
ItemTimei
=
the time attribute Test limit for the ith item within FGx

Alternatively, an isolated fault group's Time to Repair is calculated summing the isolation and replacement times for that fault group:

where
FGx
=
the xth isolated fault group
TTI(FGx)
=
the Time to Isolate for FGx
TTRepl(FGx)
=
the Time to Replace for FGx
