Test Weightings - Entity

Feature Description

What is the entity parameter?

The entity parameter specifies the Attributes or elements upon which the calculated test weighting is to be based. The following settings are available for this parameter.

Setting
Meaning
Number of Functions/

Number of Failure Modes/

Number of Items
the weighting will be based on the number of functions, failure modes or items in the set specified by the domain parameter. When this entity setting is selected, the type parameter will be constrained to three options: Count, Count Differences, and Count Similarities.
Number of Stimuli
the weighting will be based on the stimuli defined for each test. When this entity setting is selected, the domain parameter is restricted to the setting Test Stimuli and the type parameter will be constrained to three options: Count, Count Differences, and Count Similarities.
Failure Probability
the weighting will be based on the calculated failure probability associated with elements in the set specified by the domain parameter.
Severity (End Item Effects)/

Severity (Local Effects)
the weighting will be based on the severities associated with failure effects whose causes are in the set specified by the domain parameter. For each function or failure mode in the domain, only the maximum severity will be used in this calculation.
Test Cost/

Test Time
the weighting will be based on the Test limits of the test cost or time Attributes associated with each test.
Replacement Cost/

Replacement Time
the weighting will be based on the Test limits of the replacement cost or time Attributes for each item associated with elements in the set specified by the domain parameter.
Failure Rate
the weighting will be based on the adjusted failure rate associated with elements in the set specified by the domain parameter.
