Diagnostics Test Selection Criteria & Runtime Controls
Feature Description
When running diagnostics the Analyst needs to understand the following Diagnostic Controls, Test Weighting Controls, Test Cutoffs Controls, Fault Codes. These controls are setup with defaults that serve 90% of Analyst needs but understanding them can help when the diagnostics do not appear to give the results the Analyst expects.
What are Test Selection Criteria?
The above window shows Selecting the Detection Tests. when Select all tests is chosen the checkmarks will appear on all tests. This is very handy for very large models with many test sets. When model tests are changed and the model saved "Update From Design" will allow the test sets to be updated in an existing diganostic, retaining preceeding selections. New test sets will then require seelecting if deisred. Fault Isolation tests ("Isolation Options" not shown here) work the same way.
When, during diagnostic generation, eXpress selects the tests to be performed for fault detection or isolation, it employs a series of test selection criteria to determine which tests should be performed in what order. These criteria fall into two main classes:
Test Usage Rules - contain criteria that ensure that tests are selected in an order where they can produce valid diagnostic conclusions.
Diagnostic Algorithms - contain criteria that allow the order of testing to be optimized to reinforce the goals of the given diagnostic study.
