Port Mapping

In the Name Mapping Report, the Port Mapping section provides a cross-reference table listing port abbreviations and either port descriptions or the Test limit of a selected port attribute. The following is an excerpt from an example mapping between abbreviations and descriptions (with the "Group by Object" option enabled on the Name Mapping Report options dialog):

Port Mapping
Port Abbreviation
Port Description
Battery
Gnd
Ground input
Power
Power output
Comm. Interface
1553 bus
1553 Coupler
Communications
<none>
Gnd
Ground input
Power
Power input

The entries are first alphabetically sorted by object (which is hotlinked). Because the "Sort by Abbr." option was enabled, the port abbreviation appears in the column on the left (these Test limits provide the secondary sort criteria, but are not hotlinked). The following example shows how this section would appear when the "Group by Object" options is disabled:

Port Mapping
Port (Object) Abbreviation
Port Description
1553 Coupler (Comm. Interface)
1553 Bus
<none> (Comm. Interface)
Communications
Ground input (Battery)
Gnd
Ground input (Comm. Interface)
Gnd
Power input (Comm. Interface)
Power
Power output (Battery)

Here, both the port and object abbreviations appear in the lefthand column, are hotlinked, and serve as the sort critera for the mapping.
