Object Mapping

In the Name Mapping Report, the Object Mapping section provides a cross-reference table listing object abbreviations and either object descriptions or the Test limit of a selected object attribute. The following is an excerpt from an example mapping between abbreviations and descriptions:

Object Mapping
Object Abbreviation
Object Description
Avionics Engine Controller
Engine Fuel Controller and Engine Monitor
Battery
<none>
Comm. Interface
UHF - VHF Communications I/O
CP1
1553 Coupler
CP2
1553 Coupler
CP3
1553 Coupler

The order in which the columns appear is based on the setting of the "Sort by Abbr." checkbox on the Name Mapping Report options dialog. In this example, the report is alphabetically sorted by abbreviation (which therefore appear in the column on the left and are hotlinked to the design). The following shows what this mapping would look like if alphabetically sorted by the Test limits of a selected object attribute:

Object Mapping
Part Number
Object Abbreviation
Cable - 15778
Fuel Cable
CFE - 10045
Flight Surfaces
CFE - 10053
Flight Recorder
CFE - 10056
Pilot Control
CFE - 10123
Comm. Interface
<none>
Jet Engine

In this example, the name of the selected attribute (Part Number) appears in the column at left (since this report is alphabetically sorted by attribute) and the attribute Test limits, rather than the abbreviations, are hotlinked to the design.
