Automatic Column Selection Options for Topology Import
Feature Description
Immediately below the seven Import Modes fields on the Main Topology Import Panel are two checkboxes that allow the Analyst to control how column names are selected by the interface:
Automatically select columns - When this checkbox is selected on the Main Topology Import panel, the software will automatically set the columns fields based on the column headers that it finds in the specified spreadsheet. When more than one possible Object Name column header is found in the spreadsheet, the Analyst will have to manually select the worksheet and header using the Object Name dropbox. Also, when this checkbox is enabled, any time that the Analyst manually selects a column field, all "dependent" column fields will be automatically selected by the software (wherever possible).
Allow only exported columns - When this checkbox is enabled on the Main Topology Import panel, the Analyst will only be able to select column headers that match those created by the eXpresseXpress Model topology export. When this checkbox is disabled (not selected), then the Analyst will be able to select the Object Name column from any of the column headers on any of the worksheets in the specified Excel spreadsheet file. After the Object Name column has been selected, the Analyst will then be able to select any of the other column headers on that same worksheet for the other column fields.
Refer to the List of Automatically-Selected Headers for an alphabetical list of column names that can be automatically selected by the software, or to the List of Supported Columns for a chart containing all columns from which data can be imported (along with a prioritized list of all names that can be automatically selected for each column).
If the "Automatically select Columns " checkbox is checked (default) , and the Spreadsheet has the proper column names, the Data Source Adminstration window will automatically fill in the 8 sub-windows, allowing the Analyst to choose the 4 Options Panels if required. If he "Automatically select Columns " checkbox is not checked the Analyst must fill in each sub-window manually. If the desired Column is not showing in the Subwindow to select, The Allow only exported columns checkbox must be turned off (default is on)
