Because it allows data to be quickly copied and pasted between ranges of cells, Grid View can serve as a powerful batch editing tool. So that the Analyst can take full advantage of this capability, Grid View supports the selection of multiple cell ranges.
How to Select a Block of Cells

Click in the first cell of the block to be highlighted.

Drag the mouse pointer to the last cell, so that the entire block is highlighted.
Alternative: Holding down the <Shift> key, click on the last cell in the block.
How to Select Multiple, Nonadjacent Blocks of Cells

Click in the first cell (or block of cells) to be highlighted.

Holding down the <Ctrl> key, click on the first cell in the next range to be selected. Note: Single, non-adjacent cells can also be selected using the <Ctrl> key.
How to Select All an Entire Row or Column

Hold down the <Ctrl> key and click on the header of the row or column to be selected.
