In the eXpresseXpress Model topology export format, the I/O Flag column contains the abbreviation of an I/O flag. Because object abbreviations may contain carriage returns, only a single I/O flag can be listed in each cell in this column. All occurrences of the same abbreviation in this column are assumed to refer to the same I/O flag in the design. In fact, when more than one object in a design are assigned the same abbreviation, eXpress will automatically modify one of the names during export (see Handling of Duplicate Names). In the example depicted below, three I/O flags are hooked to three nets.
