Adding a Description to a Design State

Feature Description

eXpress allows the Analyst to annotate design states by adding a text description (this can be particularly useful when design states represent specific operational configurations). When design states are generated using the Auto-Create operation, the description field will be automatically filled out with a list of the selected object states. Design state descriptions can be edited using the Details panel or within Grid View.

How to Add or Edit a Design State Description (using Grid View)

1
In the Explorer tree, select the design state(s) to be edited.

Alternative: Descriptions can be edited for all design states by invoking Grid View with the top-level "DESIGN STATES" folder selected (or with nothing selected).
2
Click on the Grid View icon on the View toolbar.
3
If necessary, select "Design States" from the Contents Type drop-box on the Grid Control panel.
4
