The States Panel provides the ability to create object states for each item in the model which is functional during specific States of operation, maintenance, etc. States are groupings of an object’s functions that are used to further defined the behavior of that object. States, which are defined using the States panel that appears when a single object is highlighted, can be used to define the different operational, maintenance or test configurations that an object may exhibit.
Create a state by clicking on the green asterisk (*) and typing in a name. By unchecking the “auto” checkboxes, the Analyst can then define the functions that are active in a given state and the input ports (input, bidirectional or control) that act as control dependencies for that state.
