This section of the Helps is to aquaint the analyst with the many display and definition capabilities of the CONTEXT panel. The context panel resides below the model design panel as shown below and varies widely with usage. A sample pictorial is included in this section for each of these usages. Since the editing of information in the context panels is part of developing the model itself, specific discussion of specific panels will be covered in more task-oriented areas of this help manual. Links are provided to each area shown herein for further help in using the Context panels. When no design elements (Objects) are selected the context panel defaults to the entire design. This can easily be done by clicking in any blank area of the Design Sheet)
Context panels are dynamic dialogs that reflect information about currently selected model elements (design, objects, ports, nets, test sets, Operating Modes, etc). The context panels also provide the ability to enter and/or edit design information such as reliability data, port dependencies, test prerequisites, descriptions, failure modes, failure effects, etc.
This View of the Context Panel is included here to show "Location" of the panel only
Following is an enlarged image of the Design Failure Effects Context Panel shown in the red outlined image above. Note this panel shown here for design effects of the ECU on the braking system has sub tabs. This panel and its sub tab presentations is the main editing panel of eXpress. Each different Selection of the design will have a unique Context panel that is customized to allow editing of that item.
