A new design template has been added to eXpress to support the severity levels defined in MIL-STD-882D. When you subscribe to this template, an attribute will be added to your design that overrides the default severity values in eXpress with those defined in this standard.
The four levels provided by the severity attribute in this template are:
· Category I – Catastrophic
· Category II – Critical
· Category III – Marginal
· Category IV – Negligible
Note: These categories are the same as those defined in MIL-STD-1629A, with the exception of Category IV, which is “Minor” in the FMECA specification (MIL-STD-1629A) and “Negligible” in the System Safety specification (MIL-STD-882D).
