Cutting Ports

 
 

Feature Description

 
The Cut, Copy & Paste operations (most commonly used for objects) also works for ports. Performing a "cut" on one or more ports will copy it to the clipboard, and remove it from the current object. Keep in mind that any nets that are connected to the ports being cut will become disconnected. Furthermore, some nets might get deleted entirely because, after ports are cut, those nets may no longer be connected to at least two ports.
 

How to Cut Ports

Select the port(s) to be cut.

Right-click on any of the selected ports (or on the design sheet background) and select Cut from the pop-up context menu. 
 
Alternative 1:  Use the Ctrl+X key combination.
 
Alternative 2: Click on the Cut icon on the Standard toolbar.
 
Alternative 3: Select Cut from the main Edit menu.
 
Once cut, the ports can be pasted onto other objects.
