Controlling Diagnostic Study Run-Time Options

Note: Defaults for the following Options have been setup in eXpress so that the Analyst is not normally required to set these.  However, Diagnostic Studies includes many advanced options to aid the Analyst in diagnosing a model. In a clear area of the Flow Diagram Window, open panel shown enlarged below with "right hand mouse button." and Select "Options".  A "Diagnostic Study Options" Window will open with 6 tabs. Each tab opens a window that is described with the Links shown below.  The Options panel may be opened ay any time before or after running diagnostics.

Fault Groups Setting

Once Diagnostics have been run one time the check boxes at the right are turned on. Here you can see the results of selecting "Calculate Fault Groups /Update Statistics"  The diagram generated shows the inital Fault Group Ambiguity set of the detection test (No Isolation Ambiguity set)

The  Isolation Flow Diagram

Detection Column                        -------------------------Isolation columns-------------------------

Here you can see that the current set of tests could not isolate 4 items. When a test Passes the flow is down "Green". and the items contained within the Isolation test are remnoved from the Ambiguity Set.  When a test Fails the flow is to the right "Red". Each flow to the right carries with it the Amiguity set of items not isolated by the isolation test. The sequence continues until all items are isolated out that the available tests allow or until a cutoff setting stops any further isolation testing.
