Changing Port Flow "Port type"

Feature Description

It is often necessary to change the flow direction of one or more ports after the port has already been added. This can be accomplished in 4 ways.

How to Change Port Flow Direction (using Panels)

1
Select the Port to be changed.
2
Click on the Details tab in the context panels.
3
Select the appropriate entry from the Flow Direction drop-box on the Details panel.

How to Change Port Flow Direction (using Menus)

1
Select the Port(s) to be changed.
2
Right-click on one of the selected ports (or on the background of the design sheet) to display the pop-up context menu for ports.

Alternative: Select Ports within the Design menu.
3
Select the appropriate flow direction from the Change Flow submenu.

How to Change Port Flow Direction (using Toolbars)

1
Select the Port(s) to be changed.
2
Press the icon on the Design Editing toolbar that corresponds to the desired port flow direction.

Note: care must be taken with this approach, since a new port will be created if no ports are selected when the icon is clicked.

How to Change Port Flow Direction (using Grid View)

1
Select the Port(s) to be changed.
2
Click on the Grid View icon on the View toolbar.
3
Enable "Port Details" on the Grid Control panel.
4
Select the desired flow direction(s) in the Flow Direction column in the grid. (Note: the setting can be copied from one port to other rows in the column so that a batch of ports can all be easily set to the same flow direction).
