eXpress Has good capabilities to Align, Space and Arrange Objects in many ways. It is often desirable to "line up" a set of objects in order to improve the appearance of a design. This is accomplished using the Align, spacing and arranging capabilitie s of eXpress. Following are several examples to show how to easily achieve good alignments.
llustrations of how To Align, Space and Arrange Objects
Moves the selected objects horizontally so that each object's left edge is aligned with that of the leftmost object
Align Center
Moves the selected objects so that each object's center is aligned with that of the center most point in the range (left to right)
Align Right
Moves the selected objects horizontally so that each object's right edge is aligned with that of the rightmost object
Alignment Possibilities (Top to Bottom)
Align Top
Moves the objects vertically so that each object's top edge is aligned with that of the topmost object
Align Middle
Moves the objects vertically so that each object's center is aligned with that of the center most point in the range (top to bottom)
Align Bottom
Moves the objects vertically so that each object's bottom edge is aligned with that of the bottom most object
Distributing Horizontially and Vertically
Distribute Horizontally
Makes even spacings of selected objects Horizontally
Distribute Vertically
Makes even spacings of selected objects Vertically
Object Spacing
Adjust Object Spacing
Adjusts the spacing between selected objects Horizontially, Vertically or both
Note: The order in which these Alignment operations are conducted is important to getting the final result rapidly. In General it is best to resize items before aligning them. Also: If Annotation backgrounds are used to segregate different parts of a model make sure the Annotation is moved to the background so it is not accidently selected with the objects being aligned.
