Types of Objects

Feature Description

There are several types of objects in eXpress. Each plays an important role in building the eXpress model. While all models require components and I/O flags, some models may also require other types in order to accurately model the system.

The basic, most commonly used type of object.
A hierarchical object that is linked to a lower level design to provide more detail about object functionality. Lower level IO flags below become ports at the top and Failure Effects below become Failure modes at the top. Lower level Tests or test results can be brought to the top.

An object that marks a linking point where signals travel into or out of the design. I/O flags define the interface for higher-level. Flags designate signal functionality (Input, Output, Bi-directional)

Similar to an I/O flag, but representing a part that can fail.
Special components that reflect a failure occurence elsewhere. Its voltage output port should always be bi-diredtional
A non-functional object used for marking up the drawing
