The following "Update Hierarchy" dialog will appear when opening a hierarchical model with a linked lower level model that cannot be found:
Solution: Identify the location of the link or unlink.
This warning will normally occur when models are copied and placed in a new folder in windows or a folder is renamed and the top model is placed outside the folder
UNLINK ALL will allow the model to be opened without it's links (not recommended but can be used to exit the model quickly and repair the links).
Note: When Model sets are copied using windows copy/paste the links will remain back to the original directory model set. For this reason it is best to create a new folder and use the Hierarchy Save As to generate a new model set with the correct links.
A message prompt can now be displayed each time that a given eXpress design is opened, informing the Analyst that the contents of the model are proprietary, out-of-date, etc. The message is displayed whenever a specified text Attribute (defined at the design level) contains text.
A design-level text Attribute named MESSAGE_ON_OPEN has been added to the Basic Attributes template that is (by default) automatically applied to models when they are created. This means that all new models will automatically contain this Attribute.
Note: The Analyst can disable this message (or choose a different Attribute) on the new “Prompts” tab of the Design Options dialog. Of course, since this prompt only appears when a message has been assigned to the specified Attribute, there is no need to disable it when the Attribute is empty. For existing designs, simply add a new text Attribute to the design and then select that Attribute on the “Prompts” panel (if the Attribute is named MESSAGE_ON_OPEN, it will be selected by default).
This message will appear if the Analyst attempts to open a newer version model with an older version of eXpress that is not compatible with the newer model because the storage of the model has added stored features which are not compatible with the eXpress version being used. The Analyst can convert any older eXpress model to newer eXpress software formats, but this is not reversible. It is reccomended that the Analyst save an extra renamedcopy of older models if the model is to be converted and the Analyst also expects to open the model with the older eXpress software version.
