Editing multiple port functions on large Objects

Feature Description

Function Editing Feature

When checking and editing input and output functions on a large object, (FPGA, Processors etc.) the context panel on previous eXpress versions changed back to the "Detail panel" when going from an output port to an input port and visa versa. eXpress now will return to the last panel selected (example "Functions panel" for output ports or bidirectional ports) to aid the Analyst in checking and editing the functions of the large objects at a faster rate.

When the first type of port is highlighted again, however, the panel that had been selected by the user will once again be displayed.  For example, if you click on the “Output Functions” panel, this panel will now be automatically selected whenever an output or bidirectional port is highlighted. When an input port is highlighted, however, the “Input Functions” panel will be selected (since the “Output Functions” panel is not displayed for input ports). The same (or rather, the converse) holds true when you explicitly click on the “Input Functions” panel—it will be automatically selected for input and bidirectional ports, but not for output ports (for which the “Output Functions” panel will be displayed instead).

With this enhancement, you can now easily examine dependencies by expanding object folders in the Explorer Tree and using the arrow keys to move through the ports. You will no longer lose your panel selection when you temporarily highlight an entry in the tree for which that panel is not displayed (such as a port of the opposite type or an object folder). Intputs will choose the panel first selected when the first input port was selected and Outputs or bidirectionals will choose the panel first selected for that port type.
